1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Qist handles personal data when you use our website, join the waitlist, use the calculator, read corridor guides, take part in business research, or contact us about early access.
Qist is developing a Sharia-conscious fintech service for UK businesses paying overseas suppliers. The public website is currently for information, research, and early access rather than live payment processing.
2. Controller and contact
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Qist is the controller of personal data collected through this website and our research channels unless we tell you otherwise.
You can contact us about privacy at hello@payqist.com.
3. Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your work email, business name, role, monthly payment volume band, supplier corridor, research responses, support messages, and product feedback.
We may also collect technical and usage information, such as pages viewed, approximate location from IP address, device and browser data, referral source, and calculator inputs. Calculator inputs are used to understand product demand and improve the savings model.
For B2B research and compliance readiness, we may review publicly available business information such as Companies House records, business websites, public social profiles, trade listings, or other business directories.
4. How we use personal data
We use personal data to run the waitlist, understand which corridors businesses need, improve the calculator and product experience, contact businesses about research or early access, prepare compliance workflows, prevent misuse, and keep records of our interactions.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Sharing personal data
We may share personal data with trusted service providers who help us operate the website, waitlist, email, hosting, analytics, customer research, security, and future compliance workflows.
If Qist launches a live payment product, we may need to share data with regulated partners, banking providers, payment processors, identity/KYB providers, sanctions-screening providers, fraud-prevention providers, professional advisers, or regulators. Product-specific terms and notices will explain this in more detail before launch or onboarding.
We may also share data if required by law, court order, regulator request, fraud prevention, business restructuring, or to protect our rights and users.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal data outside the UK. Where this happens, we will use appropriate safeguards such as adequacy regulations, approved contractual clauses, or equivalent protections required by UK data protection law.
7. Retention
We keep waitlist and research data for as long as needed to develop Qist, assess corridor demand, contact you about early access, and maintain reasonable business records.
If you ask to be removed from research or marketing communications, we will suppress or delete your details unless we need to keep limited records for legal, compliance, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.
8. Cookies and analytics
The website may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for security, performance, or forms. If we add non-essential analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, we will provide the controls required by law.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first, so please contact us at hello@payqist.com.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. No website, email, or internet system is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive information unless we specifically ask for it through an appropriate channel.
11. Children
Qist is a B2B fintech product and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as Qist develops, especially if we move from research and waitlist activity to a live payment product. We will update the effective date and, where appropriate, bring significant changes to your attention.
